What we do

Studio Résistance delivers high-intensity strength training by intelligently integrating Pilates principles with Slow Resistance Training (SRT) — on Montreal’s only XFormer machines. 

Our classes are energized by motivating playlists and meticulously sequenced to achieve muscle failure — smart, efficient, and results-driven.

The method

At the heart of our programming is Slow Resistance Training (SRT): methodically paced, controlled, intense movement designed to recruit muscle fibers progressively and keep the work where it belongs — in the muscle.

By eliminating momentum, SRT helps ensure the work is done by the muscles rather than the joints and connective tissues. The result is a low-impact, joint-friendly workout that builds serious strength, improves mobility and flexibility, and delivers the intensity you’d expect from high-performance training.

The machine

The XFormer is an advanced upgrade from the traditional Pilates reformer, engineered for a more intense, strength-focused regimen — with smooth transitions, dynamic resistance (springs/straps/cables), and joint-friendly training. 

When does the new studio open?

Early 2026! As soon as construction milestones lock in, the email list gets the opening date first.
